19.11.2017 um 13:44
At BlizzCon 2017, the
What's Next Panel
revealed new information about Battle for Azeroth's first raid, Uldir, Halls of Control. During the panel, Queen Azshara was also announced as a future boss in the expansion!
With all the recent discussion about
the future of tier sets
, we wanted to recap what we knew about the raids in the upcoming expansion.

expansion overview page
Uldir, Halls of Control
Ion Hazzikostas revealed the first raid will be Uldir, Halls of Control. He didn't want to go too deep into the story of the raid, because it's hard to do without tremendous spoiling the whole story of
Uldir, Halls of Control is a titan facility found in
Uldir was once a laboratory and quarantine facility as the titans tried to analyze and understand their ancient enemy, the Old Gods
It has since been shut down and sealed away for thousands of years.
Players will have to venture forth and face off against the source of
There will be a new spin on titan architecture as seen in the image below.
There will be 8 bosses in the raid.
One of the foes is a particularly slimy and very very large creature seen in the picture below. On the artist
Rob Sevilla's Facebook Page
, we can see the art is titled "Blood God Concept," likely referring to the god G'Huun. Thanks to MyMindWontQuiet for the note.
Uldir will be the
Der Smaragdgrüne Alptraum
of the expansion.
Originally designed by the titans as a quarantine facility used to analyze and dissect their ancient enemy, the Old Gods, this large pyramid looms menacingly over Zandalar. But as with most things involving the Old Gods, something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.
We’ll have more details about this first 8-boss raid dungeon at a later date.
And before we leave, you might want to keep your eyes out for Queen Azshara, too. The sea, after all, is her playground.
Future Raids and Queen Azshara
After describing Uldir, Ion gave a few details as to a future boss that are coming in Battle for Azeroth, including a battle against
Here is the full quote from Ion:
Now following , and I'm going to say even less about this raid, it might have occurred to you when Alex was up here earlier talking about the dark threats from the sea plaguing Kul Tiras,... we know a couple dark threats from the sea.... some we have heard a lot from in Legion... you know, some Tidestone related stuff. And before all is said and done in Battle for Azeroth, we'll be facing off against Queen Azshara. Lots more story to tell on that front.
There will be
no tier bonuses
from Battle for Azeroth raid drops.
There will also be no
class-specific tier appearances
, but more visually-elaborate sets, reflecting the atmosphere of the area, from each raid.
In the later
Design a Dungeon Boss
panel, we learned about the dungeon Shrine of the Storm. This dungeon is located in Stormsong Valley, a dominant military power with a secret group of Sea Priests. They control water, storms, and wind. These sea priests bless every single ship created, giving the Kul Tiran navy an edge over the rest.
The Sea Priests wear armor covered in tentacles, and between this detail and the mention of “dark threats from the sea,” it sounds like they could be caught up in some ancient magic and related to Queen Azshara’s story. Check out our
